We LOVE fall!

The first day of fall was a celebrated event in our home along with decorations made that night going up the next day!
We love fall so much... here in FL we do miss the colorful leaves that back in IL we had an overwhelming abundance of... so we had to make our own!

We taped the leaves all over the outside walls of our "middle closet"... kinda festive!

Our "scarecrow front-door greeter" (Hey, who says only Walmart can have front-door greeters???) :)

John-David wrote a poem about fall without any prompting, just because he wanted to do it! (I was so pleased :)) I HAD to put it on the wall with all of the leaves and we purposed to have everyone write a poem or draw a picture about fall and we would put it on the same wall....

So far only Emma has done it specifically for the wall but yesterday Melody put some of her work from school up that was fall-related. (Sorry, no photos of that yet.)

My pumpkin pie- hey ya gotta make one for the first day of fall, right???

Hannah and her apple pie, the crust was excellent! Good job, Han!

Ah, and one of my favorite parts about the season is pumpkin spice- whatever! Pumpkin spice coffee, pumpkin spice candles, I LOVE IT!

Oh, yes. All the younger kids had to run outside and "collect" leaves and "rake" leaves. If you look closely at that photo of JD "raking" up leaves you can see that the leaves here are no great shakes. Emma came in with the leaves she had "collected" and they were all brown and crinkly! My poor brothers and sisters! They don't know what they are missing! Oh, well it's probably better that way as they won't be longing for northern fall like me ;)

Oh, yeah. Don't forget to check out LAST year's THIRD day of fall.... Leaves here in FL will ALWAYS be a joke!
