Ok, I promised you a recap (if I remember correctly I think I pretty much skipped all this stuff last year!) so here goes-
The Month of December
The 21st-
Our Christmas Party
We ended up with waaaaaaay too much food...
The cheese ball
Carrots and dip
(I guess even at parties some people want some sort of vegetative matter- let's just say it's not me....)
Mexican Wedding Cookies
Mint Layer Brownies
My mom's favorite don't-try-another-recipe-because-this-one's-perfect Sugar Cookies
(If requested I would be happy to post the recipes)
I think he's undergoing shock- too many girls I guess
(he has no sisters- only brothers... poor guy :))
The 22nd-
I turned 17
My delicious, rich, moist, fudgy yet fluffy, two layer, tons of frosting stuffed in the middle, chocolate chip filled... shall I go on? I see you drooling on the keyboard.
The 23rd-
Violet turned 2
Uh, yeah- about that.... We cheaped out. We had so much leftover of my cake and we knew she didn't care soooooooo.......
Happy Birthday, Baby V!
Also a happy 12th birthday to Morgan w. who shares Violet's birthday!
The 25th-
Christmas
For Christmas we went to Grandma and Grandpa's....
While we were waiting for the turkey to be done we figured (ok... they figured- I just take pictures) that we'd try out some kite flying...
Look at that- the older brother sending the younger to do his bidding- some things never change I guess...
Now if you notice to the right you will see James with an umbrella and wonder "Why?"- you are about to find out
Here we are- Daddy is just doing as he is told by the 6-year-old that is experimenting whether an umbrella on a dog's leash will work as a kite or not
Ooh, a stash! Whatcha got in there?
(Notice her pink Converse- you can't tell now but they are hightops- Hannah wishes they were a size Woman's 8 :))
Merry Christmas!
Hope yours was blessed!
Whew! Only halfway done- I don't think I've ever done a post this long or with this many pictures.... why don't you go take a break so that you don't get sick of too much of us at one time :)
You back? Ooh, with a mint chocolate chip cookie- and milk! Well sit back and enjoy while I go find where you got them....
Back to our regularly scheduled programming.
The 26th-
Abigail turned 4
She wanted and I quote, "Sthrawberrrry cake withss Hallooow Kitty on it."
(I just love the way she talks)
But since we went to church that day, we just brought cupcakes instead of a cake- She was good with it- as long as we had "Hallooow Kitty"
Happy Birthday, HappyGail!
The 31st-
The New Year's Eve Ball
For this New Year's Eve we went to South Georgia where some friends were putting on their 3rd annual New Year's Eve Costume Ball.
Thank you Morton Family for hosting that lively and encouraging event!
I was regency- I didn't want to be but I was running out of time and already had the dress... worked out :)
In this shot you can see my hair that my mother so graciously worked on both the night before putting curlers in pretty late when she was really tired and pinning it up right before the event (putting up with my indecisiveness- "Does that look okay?" -that's a loaded question :))
All I have to say now is- Thank You, Lord, for my wonderful mother!
Our family- Hannah was medieval, John-David and James were cowboys, Emma was Dolly Madison, Abigail was colonial- the rest you know
Time for fireworks!
On that note......
Happy New Year!
Hopefully 2011 will be an awesome year!
~Amy
