Movie of the Week: Last Chance Detectives- Escape From Fire Lake

Whew!  Sorry I haven't posted since my last movie of the week but I have been very very busy making freezer meals and getting our house ship shape for our upcoming new arrival :)

This week our movie is sadly on another page that I will link you to.  I say sadly because I know at any moment it can disappear...  (not that the internet can't all disappear as well, but ya know...  :))

As a famous and wise cucumber once said,
"Grab your popcorn, turn down the lights, and get ready for..."

Last Chance Detectives: Escape From the Fire Lake.

A group of kids in the somewhat lonely town of Ambrosia greatly enjoy solving mysteries...  They call themselves the Last Chance Detectives.  In previous films, they had solved cases involving a museum robbery, mysterious lights in the desert, and not to mention the legend of Bigfoot that seemed to come alive in their fair town!  But this film, the last of the films (there are three)  The leader, Mike Fowler, gets caught in the wrong place at the wrong time during the bank robbery that shook the small town.  Hiding in the back of their truck, Mike drops clues to his friends as the robbers make their get away. But being found by the robbers, Mike gets set loose in the middle of the Arizona desert, miles from home.  While trying to survive the scorching sun and intense heat, Mike remembers the teachings of his father, who had been declared MIA when Mike was six.  He remembered camping with his father, and how he had read to him the 23rd Psalm while nestled in his sleeping bag before bed, "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want..."  These words keep Mike alive...
Meanwhile the rest of the gang were trying to find him.  Putting together the clues which he had dropped for them they are pointed in the right direction.  But when Mike gets bitten by a venomous snake, will they find him in time before the poison reaches his heart?  And what about the robbers- little did they know that when the dropped Mike off in the desert they also dropped off the valuable tiny statue which had been their reason for robbing the bank of Ambrosia.  Mike has it in his possession- will they go after him?  What will they do to him if they find him?

We found this website (Jelly Telly) a while ago.  But it wasn't until recently that I saw they had updated their site so that you could watch full length films at any time... This was one we all enjoyed  :)

(Disclaimer: Because this movie was made in the mid 90s, it can stand to be a bit on the cheesy side :) )

Enjoy!
